The Story So Far...

This blog was set up back in 2008 with the main aim exploring the impact of Social Media on almost every part of our lives. The main aims are to stimulate critical thought and discussion around these subjects. It was also set up as a means to network with like-minded people and to be used as platform for community projects and engagement. This blog has helped me promote local events such as Bristol Twestival and TEDxBristol 2011-2012 which I helped organise.

A big part of this project is the exploration of different Social Media tools and platforms. I have an established presence on Twitter but have subsequently built presences on other more recent Social Media platforms such as Pinterest or Instagram.

The Critical Visual Dimension...

This blog focuses on anything I care about from current affairs, to music, to new communications, to what's front of mind at that point in time. I hope to illuminate critical thinking, debate, conversation and my unique perspective on the theme discussed. However, as of 2014, posts will start with something visual (e.g. photo or video) as an initial point of inspiration. Everything I talk about is always with an underlining positive spirit and I definitely try to #KeepShining whatever happens.

This blog has always been a way of meeting new, interesting and like-minded people and I hope it continues... :)

Feel The Music...

Music is a big part of my life and I wanted to reflect this in NiteGlow. My main love is electronic music especially Drum'n'Bass though I like lots of other genres too. If it's got a bit of soul and attitude in varying degrees I am usually onboard!

I am a producer/DJ and have lots of tunes/mixes up on Soundcloud and Mixcloud. I will also post them here as they come out...

Who is behind NiteGlow?

I am not Banksy... Haha! My name is Avinash Patil and I work as a Social Media Marketing Consultant in and around London. I spent a long time in Bristol too where this blog and related ideas was originally created.

You can find out more about the services I offer and work I have done in the Social Media Services section.
